Here are my first efforts at writing haiku as well as other "small stones," short polished pieces of writing. I am a single vegan lesbian living with 6 pets on Vashon Island. I spend my days primarily quilting "portable hug" quilts which I donate to folks who could use a portable hug for a variety of reasons. I also tutor/mentor middle school and high school students in a variety of subjects. I am interested in yoga, daoism, and haiku.
Cats do find it fascinating. So you're a weaver too - nice to find another!
ReplyDeleteHi Libby--Well I do weave but not as much as I quilt, obviously, since my loom has been 1/2 warped for nearly a year, but it is nice not to depend on machines! But I don't have a ready outlet for weaving the way I do for quilting (I give my quilts to Vashon Youth and Family Services). But it feels good to be weaving again! Had no idea you were also a weaver! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI've only taken it up this year, having been interested for many years. I'm loving it - but like all craft work there is only so much you can give to family and friends and hang on your own wall! Fortunately I'm not at that stage yet.
