Ok, I am a very new writer of haiku, dare I say haiku poet, and so maybe it is presumptuous of me, but I'm joining the February challenge from NaHaiWriMo to write a new haiku each day of the month. So here is my first one. I even posted it on the NaHaiWriMo Facebook page, which was very scary for me. Enjoy!

Hi Daphne,
ReplyDeleteWell done for giving NaHaiWriMo a go! ;-)
I've been writing and studying haiku for nearly 20 years and I was nervous committing myself to it. ;-)
This weblink giving a simple overview of haiku has been much praised by North American, and Japanese writers of haiku.
In fact, Keiko Izawa said she learnt English-language haiku from studying the website, high praise indeed!
What is haiku? weblink
all my very best,

Thanks, Alan. I hope I get to write and study haiku for 20 years even with my late start! And thanks for the weblink--it is rich with information and very helpful indeed. Have a great day!
