Here are my first efforts at writing haiku as well as other "small stones," short polished pieces of writing. I am a single vegan lesbian living with 6 pets on Vashon Island. I spend my days primarily quilting "portable hug" quilts which I donate to folks who could use a portable hug for a variety of reasons. I also tutor/mentor middle school and high school students in a variety of subjects. I am interested in yoga, daoism, and haiku.
This one's cute, did this really happen? We're still about 4 months from seeing hummingbirds - and 6 months from being able to take an outdoor shower without perishing from hypothermia! LOL
Thanks, and yes, it really did happen! The hummingbird's beak nearly touched my nose as it was drinking the shower water falling on my head! It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life and it did happen several months back. We do have year round hummingbirds, but they aren't around as much although I did have some trying to feed from a frozen hummingbird feeder during one of our cold spells.
