Here are my first efforts at writing haiku as well as other "small stones," short polished pieces of writing. I am a single vegan lesbian living with 6 pets on Vashon Island. I spend my days primarily quilting "portable hug" quilts which I donate to folks who could use a portable hug for a variety of reasons. I also tutor/mentor middle school and high school students in a variety of subjects. I am interested in yoga, daoism, and haiku.
I'm finding I'm doing it more and more as I really don't like to go off my island at all, and in fact rarely leave my home except to tutor middle and high school students. Of course, during this rebuilding of my home the entire world seems to come to me. Maybe things will change when this is all done, but I've always been a homebody who is curious about the rest of the world, but not curious enough to endure the complexities of travel.
