Here are my first efforts at writing haiku as well as other "small stones," short polished pieces of writing. I am a single vegan lesbian living with 6 pets on Vashon Island. I spend my days primarily quilting "portable hug" quilts which I donate to folks who could use a portable hug for a variety of reasons. I also tutor/mentor middle school and high school students in a variety of subjects. I am interested in yoga, daoism, and haiku.
Does the dog in your poem like his/her weekly bath?
When I was a kid we had a dog named Cubby who always looked so cold and miserable after his bath. Weirdly enough, though, he loved playing in the snow. I never did figure out why one was ok and the other wasn't. :)
Thanks, Lydia. No Chauncey really doesn't like the bath, but he tolerates it. He doesn't like the rain, but he does like the snow so maybe it is a degree of immediate wetness. Who knows!
I loved the imagery here, Daphne. Great job.

DeleteI have missed reading your daily 'news' while I have been away. I love the winds whipping through the firs and the rainbow flag flapping.
ReplyDeleteThanks, and I am glad to have you back. Hope you had a nice time away!
