Wordle 57: Crocuses and Grief

Crocuses bloom
along with flowers
of all colors
and various vegetables
including rose hips,
marrows and carrots
just outside the window
and the clatter of raindrops
on the roof resounding louder
than the clapping
of many hands drowns out
the secret stillness
of massive grief.

I had problems with these words but here's what I got.  If you want to join in, check out The Sunday Whirl for this week's wordle.  The twelve words are: secret, colors, window, massive, grief, hips, clatter, marrow, hand, flower, stillness, and crocuses.

  1. Massive grief is indeed very still. Nicely wordled.

  2. I like the mixture of gardens and grief. Rosehips keep coming up in these poems...I just figured out why! Because of "hips." LOL Your poem gave me that clarification. :) Thank you Daphne!

    1. LOL! Yes I too noticed a lot of rosehips after I wrote mine and read others. I just couldn't think of anything else to do with hips. And it got marrow as a vegetable worked in also. Glad I could provide clarification :-) Thanks for stopping by!

  3. This brings up lovely images in the mind. I love the references to the rain and all of the flowers.
Great use of all the words :)

  4. I've a friend who has a tin or steal roof on her older home. I can clearly imagine the drumming of a thunder storm.
I wasn't happy with my piece either (until I shaped it). Isn't it nice when our friends appreciate our efforts - nicely wordled!

    Thanks for your visit :)

  5. I was surprised--and pleased--to see marrow of a vegetable variety appear in a poem.

    1. Thanks! I was surprised too, but I thought an alternate use of the word would work. I appreciate your comments and thanks for stopping by!
